I’m utilizing Twitter as a marketing tool for my business (cleaning service). Since my client base is local, how do I get followers that fit my client base and how do I turn them into potential customers?

What would cause a mass exodus of people to unfollow you from twitter. Just started using and was following people and they were following me back. Posted every other day or so and re-tweeted people. Did not automatically follow, only people with same interests. (Had several interests) Would it have to do with me tweeting things from "share this"? Because I did not stick to one interests? Because I did not re-tweet everyone. I lost 40% of my followers all in one day. What am I doing wrong?

I recently just released an eBook that I wrote on how to cure acne naturally and I want to get followers on Twitter to buy my book. How do I go about doing this? I have about 5,000 followers, but I have only had one sale for my product come from Twitter. Should I even bother with Twitter then?

I once landed up on a website where I entered twitter username and password.
Since then, my twitter account is sending spam tweets automatically. They have messages like "found a new way to gain more followers".
I can do nothing but delete those tweets one-by-one whenever I login on twitter. It’s too annoying to handle.
Please help me on this.

I am looking for a good way to get twitter followers. Not just a shady pyramid scheme or phishing site. But one that works. Please have at least tried it and have a twitter account you can link as proof. Tired of all the BSers out there.
